The inaugural Florida-Georgia Senior Football Bowl, set for this weekend, will feature nine Gadsden County athletes.

The game will be played at Thomas County Stadium in Thomasville this Saturday, with a kickoff time of 2 p.m.

The game involves seniors from North Florida and South Georgia who have not committed to any college.

Gadsden County is well represented on the Florida roster with four players from East Gadsden High School, four from West Gadsden High and one from Robert F. Munroe on the squad.

Wide receivers Marterricus Thomas and Kendre McCloud, linebacker Larry Reed and defensive back Quanterrious Josey will represent East Gadsden.

Defensive tackle Chris Williams, wide receiver Theo Robinson and running back Anthony Hubert will represent West Gadsden. Antonio Bostick, recovering from a torn ACL, will suit up but not play as part of the team.

Wide receiver Cody Watson will represent Munroe.

Scott Anderson of East Gadsden and Adam Reep of Munroe are on the coaching staff of the Florida team.

"I'm excited about this game," Anderson said. "I think it will give players that may have been overlooked by colleges during the year a chance to be noticed. It's also a good way for young men to meet and get to know other players and coaches from the area."
