Lady Panthers fall to Sneads, Jags set to play Jan. 6

In limited basketball action last week because of exams and early release for the Christmas holidays, West Gadsden lost to Sneads by a 56-46 score. Sneads led 34-23 at the half.

The Panthers did manage a small run in the fourth quarter outscoring the Pirates 10-8. West Gadsden did have three players in double figures but got scoring from only five players. Kayla Streeter led all scorers with 17 points. Cydavia Warner scored 13 points and Lakendra Crittendon added 10. Bridae White hauled down 11 rebounds and four blocked shots and Streeter had four steals.

The loss dropped the Panthers to .500 on the season at 4-4.

In holiday action the Munroe Lady Cats participated in the Maclay Holiday Hoops tournament held on Friday, Saturday and Monday. The Lady Cats opened up on Friday with a game against Lincoln. After the holidays the Lady Cats host FAMU on Jan. 6. Game time is 6 p.m.

West Gadsden is done until after the New Year. The Panthers host Wewahitchka in a district contest on Jan. 6. Game time is 6 p.m.

Georgia comes to Florida in January when the East Gadsden Lady Jags host Bainbridge High School on Jan. 6. Game time is 6 p.m.
