Lady Cats move to 6-5 in season play

The R.F. Munroe Lady Cats softball team lost one and won two last week to move their record to 6-5 on the season.

First up was a disappointing loss to Leon High School 13-1.  The Lady Cats committed five untimely errors resulting in the 10-run rule loss.  Haleigh Corbally struck out three and also has a double at the plate.  Courtney Mayo added a hit and Courtney White the lone run batted in on a sacrifice.

On Thursday the team travelled to Maranatha Christian.  Mary Jane Milam was on the mound and picked up her first win of the season as the team won handily 23-8.  The team struggled defensively and hitting for the first three innings finding themselves down 8-7, but they regrouped in the fourth and scored 15 runs over the next two innings

Georgie Brannnaman led with three hits and Elly Tilk added two hits and three RBIs.  Milam had two hits including a triple.

The Lady Cats hosted Altha Friday night and won 11-4.  Brannaman moved to 3-0 on the season with the win from the mound.  Spenser Morris was 3-for-4 and Milam, Corbally and Kristin Allen had two hits each.  Corbally tallied four RBIs.  Brannaman added s solo home run as the team won their sixth game of the season. 

East Gadsden was blasted by Godby in a district loss.  Godby scored 11 runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach.  Tawanna Charlton was the losing pitcher for East Gadsden.
