The Robert F. Munroe Day School Lady Cats softball team had a successful week last week riding the bat and the arm of sophomore Haleigh Corbally to two wins.
On Tuesday night the team traveled to Altha to take on the Wildcats in a district double-header. Corbally picked up the win in the first game with the team winning 11-0 and Mary Jane Milam got her first win from the mound in the second game. Munroe won that game 12-2.
Leading hitters for both games were Kristen Allen going 7-for-7. Georgia Davis was 3-6 and Corbally was 5 for 6. Spenser Morris added three hits including a triple.
On Thursday night the team suffered through the cold but warmed up running the bases often as they upended East Gadsden High Schoo 16-6. Corbally struck out eight in six innings of work.
Jazzlyn Francis pitched for East Gadsden for three innings, getting the loss. Francis gave up six hits and walked seven.
Corbally also had a multi-hit night with three and drove in three runs. Davis added two hits, including a double and four RBIs. Morris, Allen and Montana Manley each added a hit.
Munroe is 5-1 on the season 3-1 in district play.
