NORTH BAY HAVEN 1

The Lady Cats defeated visiting North Bay Haven of Panama City in five innings by the 10-run mercy rule Tuesday, April 1. They scored eight runs in the first two innings and pushed across the final run in the bottom of the fifth to end the game. 

Offensively for Munroe, Hanna Wilde hit a double that scored three runs. Jeri Sloan had two hits and Mary Pat Thomas, Anna Jones and Ramsey Higdon had one hit each. Sloan also got the win on the mound with Wilde getting the save.

MUNROE 17

FAMU – DRS 1

In a District 1-2A contest, Munroe blasted FAMU in Tallahassee. Their biggest inning was the third inning in which they pushed seven runs across. Getting big at bats for the Bobcats was Kaye Fletcher (four for four) and Maddey Pappadakis (two for two). Mary Pat Thomas and Hannah Wilde each added 2 RBIs. Wilde also got the win on the mound for Munroe. 

VERNON 13

MUNROE 2

Munroe went to Vernon for a two-five inning doubleheader on Friday and left with two losses. In the first game, Munroe had only two hits, with Maddy Pappadakis and Hannah Wilde each getting a hit. Wilde was also the pitcher in that game, striking out four.

Munroe held Vernon to less runs and did double their hits to four but still went scoreless in the shutout. Anna Jones had two hits and Pappadakis and Wilde each added on hit. 

Munroe finished the four game week 2-2 with an overall record of 8-9. 

TENNIS

Munroe’s tennis season ended on the Maclay courts on Thursday. The Bobcats finished third in the four-team district with Maclay finishing first, John Paul II second and North Florida Christian fourth. 

Karleebeth Perkins and Victoria Anderson each earned a trip to the finals. Perkins in both singles and doubles and Anderson in doubles with Perkins. Perkins lost her singles match 6-1, 6-1. 

In doubles competition, the No. 2 team of Perkins and Anderson troubled the Maclay duo before the Marauders shook them off and went on to win the match 6-2, 6-1. 

The team is coached by Tamra Erde and will lose No. 1 singles player, Olivia Fletcher.
