Just in time

These two young boys stepped right up Jan. 26 to help the Gadsden Correctional Facility raise funds to benefit local athletes participating in the 2013 Special Olympics in Orlando. The breakfast at the Joe Ferolito Recreation Center consisted of pancakes, sausage, grits, milk and coffee. It was part of a sub-fundraiser called the Special Olympics Torch Run’s Polar Plunge. The torch will be coming through Gadsden County on April 10, and GCF will be hosting various fundraisers until that time. The fundraisers will include the sale of T-shirts and hats as well as a raffle for a weeklong cruise aboard any Carnival cruise ship to any destination to be used within the next year.
