Jaguars split in baseball play

East Gadsden High School hosted a pair of Tallahassee baseball teams at Corry Field last Thursday and Friday, splitting the two contests.

The Jaguars defeated FAMU High Thursday in a mercy rule game 14-4. Davorick Ford collected his fifth win of the year, hurling a two hitter and fanning five. John Price had three hits and Jaron Reynolds and Cedric Atkins two each to lead the offense.

Maclay defeated East Gadsden Friday 13-10 in a walk-a-thon game.

Price and Atkins continued their good hitting as Atkins rapped three hits and Price collected two. Atkins drove in five runs with his hits.

This Thursday and Friday East Gadsden will play a pair of important district games.

The Jaguars host Rickards Thursday and are at Godby Friday.
