Jags compete in Panama City

The East Gadsden track team competed in a meet at Godby last Tuesday, then ran in the North Florida Relays in Panama City Saturday.

In girls action at Godby, Jasmine Allen was second the 400-meter, Sharla Chavers was fifth in the 400-meter, Torriah Bell was seventh in the 100-meter, Destiney Atkins was fourth in the distance medley, and Bell placed first in the triple jump, third in the high jump and third in the long jump.

Allen, Mildreka Hobley, Chavers and Latonya Chandler won the 1,600-meter relay.

The girls unit of Allen, Hobley, Chavers and Bell were third in the 1,600 at Panama City while Niiadruey Murray, Allen Atkins and Shayla Gee finished fifth in the sprint medley relay.

Also in Panama City, Hobley was fourth in the 100-meter, Chandler was third in the 300 hurdles, and Bell finished fourth in the triple jump.

The boys unit of Frazier Parker, Donterious Gee, Demetric Donald and Johnny Thomas won the 1,600-meter relay at Godby. Gee also had a fifth place finish in the 400-meter and was second in the long jump.

Parker placed third in the 400 and Chris Bailey was third in the high jump.

Parker had a second place finish in the 100-meter in Panama City and Gee finished third in the long jump. Bryan Robinson was sixth in the shot put.

Parker, Labrandon Jones, Gee and Terrill Jackson won thehalf-mile relay in Panama City and Parker, Gee, Jones and Donald were second in the 1,600 relay.

The track team will compete in the FSU relays in Tallahassee this Friday and Saturday.
