Munroe rallied from a completely lopsided 25-6 score in game one, to win game two 25-13. They then dropped game three 25-15 but won game four 25-22, pushing a fifth game. The visitors from Albany then prevailed in the final game 15-8.
Standing out in the loss was junior setter, Maddey Pappadakis. She had 19 assists, three aces, three kills and nine digs. Karleebeth Perkins added seven kills, and six digs, and Katie Howell and Ramsey Higdon had two blocks each.
Munroe dropped their first game in overtime by a 27-25 but used the momentum to win the next three at Marianna on Tuesday. Victoria Anderson, Perkins and Higdon led offensively with five kills each. Freshman Katie Howell added six aces on offensive and five blocks on defense. Anderson contributed five aces and Perkins, Pappadakis and Olivia Fletcher each had five digs on defense.
The win moved the team’s record to 3-10 on the season.
Florida High defeated East Gadsden in three quick games in a district matchup.
The Seminoles won 25-5, 25-7, 25-3.
Franklin County took the Panthers in three straight last Thursday in Greensboro. Scores were 25-5, 25-15, and 25-12.
