With neither Munroe nor Tallavana Christian fielding a softball team, and East Gadsden’s team not finishing out the season, that leaves only one softball team in the county remaining. The West Gadsden Lady Panthers participated this week in their 1A District 4 tournament played at Franklin County.  Other schools comprising  are Dean Bozeman, Liberty County and Vernon.
Regional track meets are being held this week for a ticket to the state tournament being held at IMG Academy Stadium in Bradenton next week starting May 4.
Flag football
Munroe ended their flag football season as an Independent with a blistering 75-0 loss at Madison County on Wednesday of last week.  The team finished the season 0-6.
East Gadsden and West Gadsden both hope to make the field of four that will emerge from their district for the tournament.
There are only two classifications of flag football in Florida — 1A and 2A.  Both East and West Gadsden are  in 1A, which is for schools sized 99 to 1,999 in high-school population.  There are 10 schools in their 1A District 2.
District tournaments begin next week.
