EGHS drops district contests

The East Gadsden baseball team lost district games to Rickards and Godby last Thursday and Friday and the team’s record fell to 8-5.

Rickards defeated the Jaguars Thursday at Corry Field 12-8 after jumping off to a 7-0 lead after two innings.

John Price, Montez Fryson, Cameron Jackson and Cedric Atkins each had two hits to help East Gadsden in their come back but the home team couldn't quite catch up.

Bobby Britham was the winning pitcher for Rickards and Lamar Turner and Ryan Welke had a pair of hits each.

Godby defeated the Jaguars Friday in Tallahassee 13-3 behind a big six-run fourth inning.

Laramie Hayman and Hunter Peacock had three hits each for Godby and Cameron Richards, Casey Grier and Johnny Blue Craig Jr. had two hits apiece.

Darorick Ford, Jason Reynolds, Fryson, Jackson and Markious Murray had East Gadsden hits.

The Jaguars play Bay High twice this week, hosting the Tornados Tuesday, and playing at Bay Saturday.
