East Gadsden relays at FAMU

A contingent of East Gadsden track athletes participated in the prestigious FAMU relays last Saturday.

In individual girl's events: Jasmine Allen was second in the high school 400-eter. Charyla Chavers was fourth and Shayla Gee 13th.

In the 100-meter, Mildreka Hobley finished fifth. Latonya Chandler was fourth in the high jump and Torriah Bell finished third in the triple long jump and fourth in the long jump.

The relay team of Allen, Bell, Chavers and Chandler placed third in the 1,600-eter and Destiny Atkins, Terronia Bell, Gee and NiAudry Murray were fourth in the sprint medley relay.

Allen, Hobley, Chavers and Murray placed sixth in the 400 relay.

In boys action, Donterrious Gee placed second in the long jump and teammate Chistopher Bailey finished 10th in the same event.

Bryan Robinson was ninth in shot put.

The relay team of Frazier Parker, Demetric Donald, Bailey and Gee were third in the 1,600-meter.

Kendra McCloud, Gee, Torrian Williams and Terrill Jackson were third in the 440.

Gerrell Lewis, Poindexter Matthews, Williams and Jackson were fourth in the sprint medley.

The team ran in a meet at Godby Tuesday and will compete in the North Florida relays in Panama City Saturday.
