DaVarick Ford struck out nine batters and allowed only two hits in six innings of work last Thursday, leading East Gadsden High School to an 8-4 win over Altha in the Jaguars’ regular season baseball opener.
Of the four runs Ford gave up, only two were earned.
Camerson Jackson slapped two hits and drove in three of the Jaguar runs. Montez Fryson, John Price and Dominic Green also had run-scoring hits for East Gadsden.
John Warner, Ethan Byler and Tyler Huff had the Altha hits.
