At half time of the varsity boys game against Covenant Christian School on Friday night, Anna Dooner was crowned “Miss Munroe.”
Anna is the daughter of Michael and Jacqueline Dooner of Havana.
The crowning came at the end of a week of activities to raise Bobcat spirit. “Farm Day,” “Bling-Bling” Day” and “Class Color Day” for Spirit Week gave students an opportunity to dress up as a group and show their Bobcat spirit. “Twin Day” on Wednesday had the campus seeing double.
Bobcats geared up to battle Covenant Christian on Friday as students wore school colors and showed Bobcat pride “jungle style.”
Athletics hosted a barbecue fundraiser in the concession stand during the games. A varsity boys basketball win at the buzzer set the tone for the sock hop that followed in the gym.
Students had voted during homeroom on Friday morning for “Miss Munroe.”
Dooner was escorted by her father and represented the Key Club as their 2008-9 Sweetheart. Anna is an active member of the student body. Her activities and honors for the past four years of school include Student Council, Anchor Club, journalism, basketball, tennis, volleyball and class officer.
Dooner plans to attend a four-year university following graduation in May.
