The residents at the Magnolia House Assisted Living Facility, located on Strong Road in Quincy, recently celebrated a very special birthday. Magnolia House Resident, Ms. Dollie Revell turned 102 on October 4th. The residents, staff and family of Revell sang “Happy Birthday” and enjoyed cake following their lunchtime meal. “We try to make each resident feel special on their birthday by making them a cake and singing Happy Birthday following the lunchtime meal, this birthday was extra special. It is not every day that someone turns 102,” said Rache’l Layerd, Director of Marketing and Life Enrichment at the Magnolia House. Revell is from Liberty County and has been a resident at The Magnolia House Assisted Living Facility since July of 2008. Revell celebrated her 100th birthday at Magnolia House in 2008 with a large celebration with many family members in attendance. She was presented with a letter from the President of the United States and the Governor of Florida. Now two years later Revell is celebrating another birthday and is still very capable of lively conversation and interaction. She keeps the staff at the Magnolia House on their toes. When you are 102 years old, folks tend to listen to you!
