If you are prone to procrastination, the Post Office has a few tips to make your holiday mailing a little

The bad news is that if you wanted to send that military person stationed outside of the continental United States a package and be sure it arrived by Christmas, you’ve already missed the deadline.

The good news is, there are other options to getting mail delivered by a certain date. They are:

* Dec. 11 deadline for Express Mail International.

* Dec. 17 deadline for Global Express Guaranteed.

* Dec. 21 deadline for Priority Mail Domestic.

* Dec. 22 deadline for Express Mail Domestic.

Pat Ohlson, postal service supervisor, said local residents who want to avoid lines should come in early. The lobby is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

“We’ve noticed a pick-up in traffic in the number of parcels and cards. Next Monday (Dec. 10) is expected to be the heaviest day for mailing boxes,” she said.

There are boxes ready for mailing inside the lobby for the convenience of customers.
