Women’s conference planned

True Wisdom New Hope Ministries International Development Center Inc. hosts S. D. James Evangelistic Association Inc.’s 2014 International Women’s Auxiliary Conference. Beginning Thursday, March 27, and ending Sunday, March 30, participants can enjoy daily seminars, evening services, tours of historical museums and a delightful banquet.

Nightly services will be at 8 on Thursday, March 27, and Friday, March 28. On Saturday, March 29, there will be a special banquet will include a Hat Fashion Show and will begin at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, March 30, service will begin at 9 a.m. Nightly and Sunday morning services are open to all. Services will be at 1477 Capital Circle NW, Tallahassee.

Registration is $150, which includes conference materials, daily seminars and a banquet.

Community clothes closet open

The Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, corner of 9th and Crawford, in Quincy, announces a free Community Clothes Closet. There are clothing items for youth and adults available free of charge. Anyone interested in receiving items should contact Mother Thelma Powell at 850-933-9405 from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Everyone is welcome!

St. Peter AME hosts praise service

The St. Peter AME Church family, Gregory W. Hodges, pastor, will host a special service at 3 p.m. March 23, at 866 Peters Road in Midway. Theme: “Shifting the Atmosphere Praise Service.” The public is invited to this higher praise service sponsored by Basic Truth Choir. Breakfast of champions

A Prayer Breakfast will start at 9 a.m. March 15 at Salem A.M.E. Church, 205 Kemp St. Greensboro. The missionary society of Salem AME Church will host the event to celebrate their missionary weekend. The guest speaker will be Sis. Sandra Bryant, first lady of St. John AME Church in Quincy. There is no charge and a full course breakfast will be served. Dress up for special event

Missionary Annual Evening in White will start at 6 p.m. March 16 at Salem A.M.E. Church, 205 Kemp St., Greensboro, hosted by the missionary society of Salem A.M.E. Church. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Anton Elwood, pastor of New Mt. Zion AME Church in Tallahassee, along with his congregation. The public is invited.

Union Chapel hosts Evening in White

The public is invited to the annual Evening in White at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Union Chapel AME Church, 536 Union Chapel Road, Quincy, in the Sawdust Community. The Rev. Timothy Cole will be the guest preacher. New Zion AME Church Choir will be the guest choir singing songs. The New Zion AME Church Ushers will be the doorkeeper. Clothing closet event set

Union Chapel AME Church Clothes Closet will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15. Plenty of new and used clothes and shoes. The clothes closet will be and can be opened any time on an emergency as needed. Just notify one of the person listed below. Shiloh Outreach Center Memorial Service

The Shiloh Outreach Center will host a Memorial Tribute in Memory of Sister Lillian Gilyard Pendleton, Sunday, March 16, 2014, 4 p.m. at New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Sawdust. The public is invited to join in this celebration.

Second Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 98 years.

The Second Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church family will celebrate “98 Years of God’s Grace” Sunday, March 16. The 11 a.m. message will be delivered via the Rev. Brandon Killings of Marianna; the 3 p.m. message will be delivered the Rev. Kelvin Wells of Bainbridge. The public is invited. 

St. Paul A.M.E. plans gathering

The Rev. Shirlean Thomas and the St. Paul A.M.E. Church family of Midway invites the public to the church’s annual Family and Friends Day Program. The event starts at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16. Minister Jarvis Alls and the New Birth Christian Center family will be in charge of the service. The church is located at 825 Bill McGill Memorial Highway in Midway.
