Christine Kohnke

Christine Kohnke, 83, of Quincy, passed away Saturday July 28, 2012.  She was a native of Richmond, IN. and had lived in Quincy for more than 60 years.  She along with her husband Albert owned and operated Kwilecki’s hardware and building supply for many years.  She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Quincy, where she was a member of the Woman’s Guild, a volunteer for many years with Big Bend Hospice and the Bainbridge, Ga. Y.M.C.A. 

She is survived by her four daughters, Kathy Connelly and her husband Jack, Patty Kemper and her husband Bob, Mary Frances Smith and her husband Randall, and Karen Burgos and her husband Martin.  Three sons, Max Kohnke and his wife Monica, Steven Kohnke and his wife Janice and Col. William Kohnke U.S.A.F. (Ret.) and his wife Nancy.  Fourteen grandchildren, Megan Connelly, James Connelly, Bryan Connelly, Christopher Connelly, Danielle Kohnke, Danya Kohnke, Aubrey Kemper, Uidan Kemper, Adam Kemper, Christopher Smith, Andrew Burgos, Brandon Burgos, Jason Burgos, and Kristina Burgos.  She was preceded in death in 1980 by her husband Albert Kohnke.  

The family will receive friends, Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Americare Funeral Home, 20 S. Duval St. Quincy, FL.  A funeral mass will be held at the St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Quincy, Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:00 am and the interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 27 N. Shadow St. Quincy, FL. 32351, or Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, FL. 32308.  Americare Funeral Home (850)627-1111, www.americafc.com, is in charge of the arrangements.
