Chattahoochee Red Birds off to rocky start this season

The Washington County Bruins remain the only unbeaten team in the Big Bend Baseball League of Florida, with a 4-0 record in the Western Division.

The Liberty County Diamond Dawgs in the Eastern Division lost their first game of the season to the Gulf County Drive by a score of 13-10.

The Diamond Dawgs still remain in first place in the Eastern Division followed closely in second place by the Calhoun Horsemen, with a 3-1 record, after taking a double-header from the Chattahoochee Red Birds, 5-3 and 3-1, bringing the Red Birds season record to 0-5.

The Bay County Brewers and the Destin Dawgs split a double-header, and both teams remain tied for second place, with a 2-2 record, behind the first place Washington Bruins in the west.

This week, the Red Birds play in Wewahitchka, Liberty County Dawgs play are at Calhoun County, Bay County plays at Jackson County and Washington County plays at Destin.

All games begin at 2 p.m.
