 Backyard Container Vegetable Gardening Workshop:
 The Gadsden County Extension Service is inviting you to participate in a container vegetable gardening workshop. This workshop is geared towards homeowners, but everyone is welcome to attend. The registered participants will get to assemble a homemade grow-box and they will get to take it home. Materials for the workshop will be provided.
   Pre-registration is required by  March 28, registration fee of $20 to be paid to Gadsden County Extension Education Foundation Inc. (GCEEFI). Workshop will be held at the Gadsden County Extension Service (Livestock Pavilion) on Tuesday March 29 at 6 p.m. duration will be two plus hours. For registration contact our office at 850-875-7255.

FREE CLASSES FOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS The Gadsden County Chamber of Commerce recently announced the opening of the Gadsden County Small Business Service Center.  In an effort to assist small business owners the Service Center will offer FREE classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 – 8 pm at the Gadsden Historical Society Building in Quincy.  March 24th is the first day of instruction for the “Marketing” section which teaches how to get the word out to your potential customers. The Gadsden County Health Department population based services is excited to announce that that it is now offering oral Quick Testing.  So Get Ready, Get Set, Get Tested know your HIV status. Testing will be held every Tuesday in Gretna at the Gretna Clinic and every Wednesday at the Quincy clinic from 2-4 p.m.

The Gadsden County Medicine Chest is in need of health care items such as beds, bedside tables, over-bed tables, bedside chairs, bedside commodes, walkers, canes and crutches. The items will be refurbished and given to those in need of them, with the understanding that the items will be returned when no longer needed. Florida’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program needs volunteers to join its corps of dedicated advocates who protect the rights of elders residing in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult family care homes.  The program’s local councils are seeking additional volunteers to identify, investigate and resolve residents’ concerns.  Special training and certification is provided. 10th Annual Tails and Trails 5k, 10k and 1 Mile Fun Walk
will be held April 30. Time of Event: 8:30 a.m. at Tallahassee Animal Service Center at Tom Brown Park
Additional Information:  The event features 5k and 10k runs and a one mile fun walk.  The courses wind through the park. Families and walkers are especially welcome!  The event will include music, food, a kids tent and bouncy house and local business sponsor booths.  Entry fees $10- $16.
