Betty Jean Potter, 78, born in Miami, Florida, raised in Holmes County, Florida and residing in Gadsden County Florida since 1951, passed away in Tallahassee, Florida. Mrs. Potter had retired as a Registered Nurse with the Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida. She was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church in the Sycamore Community, Florida. Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Russell Potter of Sycamore Community, Florida. Her daughter, Sharon Potter Thompson of Chattahoochee, Florida. Two sons: Rusty Potter of Dallas, Texas and Andy Potter and wife, Melody of Flat Creek, Florida. A sister, Marie Avery of Pensacola, Florida; Six grandchildren, one great grandson. Brother and sister-in-laws, Edgar Potter, Mayo and Ellen Potter, Betty and Kimble Mulford, and Joe Whitener. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation with the family was Tuesday, January 10,2012 from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. EST, at Lanier-Andler Funeral Home in Sneads, Florida. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. EST, Lanier-Andler Funeral Home Chapel in Sneads with Rev. Roger Blevins officiating. Committal and Interment Services were at the Sycamore Cemetery. Lanier-Andler Funeral Home in Sneads, Florida was in charge of arrangements. PH 850-593-9900
